Simple Outdoor Weddings in Nashville, Franklin & Brentwood Parks

Nashville

Centennial Park

Tons of scenic spots (Parthenon lawn, lake edges, gardens). No reservation needed for a tiny, no-setup ceremony; permits are mainly for reserving areas like the Sunken Garden/Rose Arbor or bringing in event gear.

Percy Warner Park (general park areas)
Meet at an overlook, trail, or open lawn for a simple, nature-focused ceremony.

Two Rivers Park (grounds only)
Open greenway and river views—nice for a relaxed, casual ceremony.

Shelby Park
Shelby Park is a laid-back, scenic spot with wide green spaces, gentle hills, and pockets of trees and wildflowers—an easy, beautiful choice for a small outdoor ‘I do’ without leaving the city.

Sevier Park

Sevier Park is a lovely, laid-back green space at the southern edge of Nashville’s 12 South neighborhood—perfect for a simple outdoor ceremony or photos. In the heart of the park you’ll see Sunnyside, an antebellum home built in 1852. It’s been home to several prominent Nashville families over the years, including families connected to Presidents Andrew Jackson and James Polk.

Cumberland Park (Now Officially Wasioto Park)

Sitting right on the edge of downtown,is an easy walk from the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge and overlooks the Cumberland River. You can use the open grassy lawn or the riverside walkway as a backdrop for your ceremony—choose the river, the bridge, or the city skyline behind you.

Franklin

Crockett Park (park areas)

This park has wide, open lawns and peaceful trail views, which work really well for a small outdoor wedding or elopement. You’ll find several shelters in the park that can be reserved if you’d like a more structured space or a place for guests to sit, but they’re not necessary for a tiny, no-decor, no-setup ceremony.

For many couples, it’s as simple as choosing a quiet spot by the trees or along the trail, meeting there for the vows, and then taking a few photos before heading off to celebrate elsewhere.

Deerwood Arboretum & Nature Center

Ponds, meadow, and trails—perfect for a small “woodland vows” moment.

Tucked away in Brentwood, Deerwood Arboretum has a peaceful, nature-focused feel that works beautifully for a simple outdoor wedding or elopement. You’ll find walking paths, water views, and plenty of trees and greenery, so it’s easy to step off the main trail and choose a quiet spot that feels tucked into the woods. It’s ideal for a tiny, no-setup ceremony—just the two of you (and maybe a few guests), a short walk, and a sweet “I do” surrounded by nature.

River Park
Riverside vibe along the Little Harpeth; nice, easy option for a simple ceremony.

Owl Creek Park
Small lake and trails; sweet, intimate feel for very small gatherings.

Marcella Vivrette Smith Park (grounds)
Huge park with scenic open areas. Ravenswood Mansion inside the park is a paid venue if you want exclusivity, but the surrounding park grounds can work for micro, no-setup ceremonies.

Brentwood

The Park at Harlinsdale Farm
Massive open space and an iconic barn backdrop—perfect for “just us” vows in a wide-open field.

Aspen Grove Park
Shady lawns and greenway; easy “pull up and get married” location. Pavilion reservation only if you need the covered area.

Pinkerton Park
River views and a pedestrian bridge for photos; walkable to downtown Franklin.

Jim Warren Park
Open lawns and walking trails. The enclosed pavilion is an optional rental if you want covered space.

Bicentennial Park

Bicentennial Park sits between 3rd Avenue, North Margin, and the Harpeth River in Franklin, and it works beautifully for a small outdoor wedding or elopement. Once home to the Georgia Boot Factory, it’s now a relaxed community park with a lovely open-air pavilion that can be a natural spot for a short ceremony or a simple gathering with family and friends.

The park’s greenway begins near Margin and 2nd and winds through town to the Franklin Recreation Center, giving you plenty of pretty paths and greenery for photos. There’s also an overlook of the Harpeth River, which can make a sweet backdrop for saying your vows or grabbing a few portraits after your “I do.”

Winstead Hill Park
Quiet, historic hilltop spot; lovely for whisper-your-vows style ceremonies.
